Oh-ohh Say Can You See...

I have recently noticed a ridiculous amount of self-contradiction and hypocrisy on the flags that the rural Maine populace so tightly cling to.
For example, there is a house near here that displays, at the same time, a Confederate flag and a bumper sticker proclaiming "We Stand United." Call me crazy, but I don't think that the common definition of 'united' involves splitting the country in half.
There is also a home nearby (no doubt full of morons, though it is not my place to judge) that, over the past four months has hung: One Confederate flag, one standard United States flag, and a Thirteen States flag. Now, maybe they have rapidly changing beliefs, but I think that the Thirteen States/Confederate flag message is a tad contradictory. "We support the South!" "Wait, now we support New England, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland, but none of those other Northern states!
Ahh, the ignorance of rebel patriotism.

SIDENOTE: Is anyone else bothered by the fact that your patriotism is measured in how many flags you have? I am patriotic in the 'We're wrong, but I still like living here' sense, and I own not a single flag.
